There will be two coffee breaks will tea/coffee biscuits, cakes  are provided. 

By the end of the day all participants will:

• Understand a cordless drill and its functions
• Understand the construction of both plasterboard and masonry walls
• How to find battens and hidden electrics /plumbing
• Know how to drill into both surfaces
• Understand 4 different drill bits. Masonry, wood/plasterboard, screw ( with & without extension), countersink.
• What wall anchors to use for different weights and how to match them to drill bit size
• How to safely remove wall anchors and fill holes
• How to hang different type of brackets on walls
• The difference between caulk and filler & how and when to use both
• How to measure, drill into and cut wood, using a handsaw and mitre box, a chop saw and a jigsaw
• How to find 45% angle for creating picture rail panelling
• How to measure a wall for batten and board panelling and how to rip down an MDF board to create the panels.

There are three sessions throughout the day and you will have a pop quiz at the end of each session to ensure you are happy to move on. There will be demonstrations of all tools before you get to practice with them yourselves.

Please wear old clothes, you will be drilling walls, cutting , caulking, gluing and filling wood .  This is a full, interactive , hands-on, fun day shared with like minded people

Cancellation Terms

All workshops must be paid for in full at the time of booking

Any cancellations are refunded as follows:

3 weeks before… a full refund

2 weeks before …. 50% refund

All other cancellation refunds will depend on whether your place can be advertised and rebooked by another person.

How To Stain Wood is a video tutorial showing you how to stain the top of furniture that is pre finished. That means it still has the shop bought finish. Do you have to sand the wood back ? The answer usually is yes, as stains take better to raw wood . Also remember the stains take deeper to raw wood than pre finished wood.
